1234

[ 🎶 Thinking Cap ] This post is framed around results of cypher-based queries for the number 1234 against my custom lexicon files built up over a year of phrase inputs (mostly gleaned from newspaper headlines and their 'quoted phrases', or stream of conciousness inspired by them). There are not very many, but the few there are appear to be instructive. I have used some repetition to aid those with trouble remembering numbers. Perhaps NSFW. (For the confused: see here, here and here)
If you are brand new to this collection of scrolls, I recommend reading (as much as you can of) this before returning here, which will help to justify my particular focus below (the belt).
Did you gnow A=1?
There are 26 letters in the English-Latin Alphabet.
The basic alphabetic gematria code acknowledges that A=1, B=2, C=3, ..., Z=26 (ie. ordinal gematria).
In this basic alphabetic cypher (which is implied if I do not specify):
If you flip the numeric ordering about (ie. look in the mirror: treat 'Z' as 1, down to 'A' as 26), then...
This ("The ABC") is the name of the earliest alphabet primer textbooks for kids.
The first church primers paralleled the introduction of school textbooks known as “the ABC”
The Alphabet is a vessel for messages:
If, instead of the basic alphabetic ordinal cyphers above, we use another cypher some call Agrippa's Key, and some call the 'jewish cipher', which is based on the ancient Hebrew and Greek gematria charts, and maps that scheme to the Latin Alphabet, we can ask a catch-phrase question (written more formally than usual)
What's in a name?
Indeed:
Here we move beyond the three steps of ABC and arrive at the Door of Dalet. Behind it, if we have the write keys, we might discover...
The results of...
Itself the result of...
... of the Masters of the Ages.
Or not.

I have a spell-matching feature that can cross-match multiple cypher results and return the 'closest frequency matches' of all the spells I've ever entered into my gematria tools. At the time of writing the lexicon file is half a megabyte in size (plain text) and contains 37,694 words and phrases.
When I ask for the spellings that most closely match: "live forever", I get the following three results as top matches:
  • 'white liquid', 'into the girl', and 'the dilution' (with 8+ cypher matches)
There are a lot of flowery symbolic or metaphorical phrases that it could have returned, but it seems the Heptapods are rather blunt.

And they had a king [41] over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon [41] , but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.
This is perhaps a dual - the Abaddon is both Father Beast (and Lord of the Harem, perhaps, given the plural 'them') and the Beastly Progeny (ie. King and Prince):

from The Comte De Gabalis, discourse 1: https://www.sacred-texts.com/eso/cdg/cdg04.htm
He found me to be of a tractable, inquiring, and fearless disposition. A dash of melancholy is lacking in me, else I would make all, who are inclined to blame the Comte de GABALIS for having concealed nothing from me, confess that I was a not unfit subject for the Occult Sciences. One cannot make great progress in them, it is true, without melancholy; but the little that I possess in no wise disheartened him. You have, he told me a hundred times, Saturn in an angle, in his own house, and retrograde; some day you cannot. fail to be as melancholy as a Sage ought to be; for the wisest of all men, as we learn in the Cabala, had like you Jupiter in the Ascendant, nevertheless so powerful was the influence of his Saturn, though far weaker than yours, that one cannot find proof of his having laughed a single time in all his life. The Amateurs must, therefore, find fault with my Saturn and not with the Comte de GABALIS, if I prefer to divulge their secrets rather than to practise them.

An Old Pirate's Party [Pirates II]

This is for the civilized life category. And I know that bit mentions a recent return to the civilized life but this is a pirate who's been living it for a while. I still think it works. Just something light and fun for me to write out before the next chapter of Spellslinger. Enjoy!
Stories
Isaac looked up into the sky of his home and wondered why it was he bothered coming to parties anymore. They’d lost their thrill and fun years ago. But at the very least it gave him a reason to venture forth from his mansion. He gazed up at the night sky from the veranda of… some lord’s estate. He had forgotten who owned the place. While the parties might have grown old and dull to him the night sky still had the same beauty. Orbiting a somewhat distant blue purple gas giant known as Jauvive that had trapped a ring of ice rocks the moon of Tortova had a wonderful view. It was just nearing the point where the sun had set, but Jauvive still kept the sky relatively light and one could see the glimmer of the ice in orbit.
But Tortova wasn’t just known for it’s beautiful sky. It was much better known for its perfect position in the system to reach many important trade routes, and being just one of dozens of moons around Jauvive that provided all sorts of safe havens and hidden ports for entrepreneurial ship captains. Or rather it used to. Isaac sighed as he thought of how things had changed. Now there was a full time naval presence in the area. The moons were all mapped and charted. The lanes were patrolled and guided. The golden age of adventure was dead. And most of his old friends with it.
Isaac had gotten out at the top but he couldn’t help but feel like he should have just gone out in a blaze of glory instead of… fading away in dull parties for dull people. As he set his hand on the hilt of his sword he smirked at the thought that hardly anyone even brought blades to parties anymore. When was the last time he’d been in a duel over the love of a woman? Or the insult of a spilled drink? When was the last time he’d even seen a duel? He shook his head slowly and kept watching the ice rings above him. Maybe he’d go home early and pass out drinking one of those old bottles of Space Kraken Rum he had. But before he could leave he heard someone speak up to his side.
“Uhm… Excuse me.” He turned then and looked over, and then down. Before him was a Cauchon girl, perhaps twelve or thirteen. They made him think of a cross between a cat and a bird. They had triangular ears atop their head, cat like eyes, and mostly a fine coat of fur, but their tails were bright colorful plumes like that of a bird and they had wing like webbing that ran under their arms. Though they couldn’t fly he’d seen them glide. His firstmate for most of his illustrious career had been one. But these days so many of them hide away their tails and wings under fancy clothes that fit in better with the aristocracy of Tortova. Such as this one in a fancy pink dress that probably made her look twice as big as she really was. She didn’t look comfortable in it either.
“What can I do for you child?” He asked and then took his hat off with a flourish as he bowed before her. “Captain Isaac De Nullepart at your service. Imperial Navy. Retired.” He winked at her as her eyes seemed to light up like he hadn’t seen in so very long.
“Aren’t you… uhm…” She fidgeted with her fingers as she stammered a little. “Aren’t you Captain Nowhere? Ghost of Jauvive?” When she asked that he grinned wide, many of his holoteeth glimmering in the dim light. They were considered gaudy and passe these days by most of the high class but they’d been all the rage in his prime.
He pressed a finger to his lips then and made a soft shhh. “Don’t tell anyone. They all think I was just some old icy void dog. But you’ve got a good eye to you.” He grinned at her once more.
“Did you really lose your arm to a giant crag snapper?” She asked and he chuckled as he held out his left hand letting her see his synthetic fingers.
“Just the fingers. The bastard tried to eat the my favorite navigator! Couldn’t allow that now could I?” He teased. She was looking up at him with a mixture of awe and wonder that he hadn’t seen in… how long had it been? He looked at her and then out over Lord Whatshisface’s personal garden over the back of his estate and waved out over it. “I once dueled Baron Ventenia out here you know. Back when he owned this place.”
“Just before you cut out his eye and stole his wife!” She finished for him which made him chuckle.
“She wasn’t his wife, and since no one belongs to anyone but themselves I didn’t steal her from anyone.” He corrected.
“Which is why you destroyed the Royal Bank’s Debt Holder’s Office on Porosau! And then slipped between the rings to make your escape when they called the whole fleet after you!” As she rattled off some of his past work he could only chuckle and grin once more.
“Allegedly my dear. Allegedly. After all what pirate would destroy so much money rather than steal it for himself?” He asked.
“B-because everyone can be from nowhere. Everyone can start life new! All they need do is join your crew!” He smirked as she used his old slogan to get more crewmembers when he was in port. “You were born a bastard and… oh. I’m sorry.” She realized what she’d said and he just laughed.
“No no. Quite right. A born bastard and a living bastard according to my enemies.” He teased. “I was cast out by my father-”
“And then dedicated your life to bringing him down and claiming his noble title as your own culminating in the infamous raid on the governor’s palace! Where you killed your evil brother and father and stole the title for yourself shortly before the equally famous Twilight Invasion of the Imperial Navy which many claimed you planned and guided! All the other captains were involved! Captain Dreadbot! Bloodblade Robert! Ironhide Irvek! Madame Lerau!” As she began to list off some of his old friends his smile slowly faded.
How many of them he’d lost. He’d negotiated a deal with the Imperials, trading treasure for title and gotten out of the game. But the others… well most of them hadn’t made the same sort of plans. They didn’t understand how different it would be when the Imperials invaded. Then the system was filled with standing navies and the increase of importance to the various nations involved meant pirates were getting pushed out. Used to be lone merchantmen fat with treasure from the Anzarin crusades, or even gold and silver from the mines of Platanuva.
Then they were coming in convoys. Then armed convoys. Then they didn’t need to stop to refuel or discharge around the gas giants as much, and all the safe routes through the moons were charted. The treasure fleets stopped, the gold and silver started being processed locally, and now the shipments were more about grain and ore than anything a pirate could easily use. For a brief wonderful period Isaac had been the right person, in the right place, doing what only he could have achieved. And now it was over. Never to return. “Captain Nowhere?” He returned to reality as she spoke and focused on her once more. She looked up at him with a worried expression. How long had he been standing there silent?
“My best friend for decades as Cauchon you know.” He said as he tried to figure out what to say to the girl.
“Rainbow Rick. He… I think he was my great uncle. But… my family doesn’t really want me asking about that sort of thing. They say it’s not polite anymore.” He laughed as she mentioned that and gave her a more focused look. “Is it true that Baron Ventenia hid jewelled flowers around his garden for both lovers and victims of his?” She asked and Isaac smiled once more.
“Now there was a son of a bitch with a sense of style. He insisted his ship had this incredibly intricate gold rose etched into the bow. I stole it. Twice. But yes… I’m sure there are still a few of those flowers out there.” He waved at the garden and the hedge maze in the distance. “Want to go find one?” He asked. She brightened up for a moment and then looked suddenly worried, her ears twitching about as she looked to either side and wrung her hands.
“I’m… I’m not supposed to leave the veranda… It’ll ruin my dress. It’s very expensive.” She said and Isaac looked around for a moment before picking up his rum and Tunac juice before splashing the drink all over the front of her dress. The green juice staining the pink fabric immediately as she gasped out.
“There. Dress is ruined. Let's go have an adventure.” He grinned at her and after a moment she nodded and turned around.
“Could you just grab that big string and pull?” She asked pointing to a knot that held the dress in place. He arched a brow but reached out and tugged, and as it came free she tucked her arms into the dress letting it fall to the ground as she revealed beneath it a small spacer suit like so many pirates wore in his day. He laughed at the site of the young girl wearing an oil stained greasy outfit like that but he noticed the bright rainbow plumes of her tail and as she stretched her arms out he could see she’d modified the sides of the suit to allow her wings room, her feathers shimmering in the light making an unmistakably familiar pattern to him.
“You’ve just got to be related to Rick.” He muttered and when she turned around she smiled up at him and saluted.
“Sophila Nul Jipa Rochelle reporting for duty Cap’n!” He took a moment to salute her back.
“Welcome aboard Rainbow Rochelle. Let’s find some treasure!” He turned and jumped over the edge of the veranda then waiting for her to quickly hop over and follow him as he rushed towards the garden in the distance feeling an energy he hadn’t experience in years. Possibly decades. As they got near the maze he stopped short. “Hold on First mate! I hear there are dangerous animals in these parts! They’ll tear you apart if you’re not careful!” He looked around then and pointed as he finally saw who he was looking for.
“There!” He whistled out and watched as the golden brown dog looked up, from his place in a fancy doghouse. Isaac couldn’t remember the lord’s name that owned this place now but he did remember his dog. “Look out! The vicious beast approaches!” Chance came running over then, excited at the sudden company. He jumped around a bit but didn’t try to climb on either of them, though he did lean up to lick at the girl’s face.
“Cap’n the beast has a taste for my flesh! What do we do?!” She gasped out as Isaac quickly picked up a stick.
“Never fear first mate! We’ll draw it away with this! The bane of terrible beasts everywhere!” He wagged the stick in the air for a moment to get the dog’s attention and then tossed it out into the garden. As Chance went running Isaac winked at Rochelle. “Now let's hide. It’ll confuse him something terrible.” She was laughing as they dashed into the maze then. Soon they’d found one of the old jeweled flowers and he’d broken it off at the base to give to her. They’d played around with the dangerous guard beast for a bit and then headed around the estate to the kitchen. It was time for him to show her a small taste of piracy.
The servants inside jumped as Isaac kicked the door open and stepped in waving his electrosaber around in one hand and his plasma pistol in the other. “Yarrr! I’m Captain Nowhere and we’re here for the loot!”
“Yeah! We’re here for all the ice cream!” His new first mate called out as she waved a stick at them. As they stormed the kitchen Isaac made sure to press a Gold Bitcoin into the hand of each of the servants as he passed, waving about his sword and shouting a bit but not doing more than that as his partner in crime grabbed several cartons of ice cream from the freezer. As they retreated with their illgotten gains he snagged a bottle of rum as well and then bowed before the surprised and shocked staff.
“Don’t forget yer run in with the nefarious Captain Nowhere! Best be off about your lives thankin whatever ye believe in that I left ye all in one piece!” He bellowed with a laugh but then left a pouch of more Golden Bitcoins in the hand of the nearest waiter. “Spread em around. Twas all in good fun.”
He then joined his newfound crew outside on a bench in the garden. She had opened all the cartons and seemed to have tried all of them once or twice, and possibly had stuck her face into one of them based on how much was smeared around her muzzle. He chuckled at the sight and pulled the top off the bottle of rum with his teeth and took a swig. “Can I have some?” She asked, pointing at his bottle. He looked at it for a moment and then grinned, his holoteeth once more gleaming in the dark.
“Sure. But it’s a might bit strong.” He cautioned. She took it in both hands and slowly tilted it up, he doubted she got more than a taste of it before she pulled it away, coughing and sputtering. He laughed and patted her on the back with one hand, taking the bottle back with the other.
“It’s… good…” She whispered unconvincingly as she coughed and blinked away tears.
“Ah that it is.” He smiled and then took up one of the spoons she’d stolen to get a scoop of ice cream for himself. “Aaahhh chocolate and cinnamon with a hint of orange. One of my favorites. Used to be a time when it was damned hard to get any of those things. I remember stabbing a man for my very first banana.”
“I wanna be like you when I grow up. I wanna be a pirate.” Rochelle said but then Isaac frowned and shook his head.
“No you don’t. You might want to be like me in a way but not a pirate. Those days are over. And even when those days were still around it isn’t the life you think it was. See all my teeth?” He waved a hand at his holosmile. “There weren’t any dentist pirates. The old void rations were so hard we’d chip our teeth on them, or they might get rotten out by ivory worms. You have any idea what it’s like to feel a worm wriggling around in your gums?” He asked and saw her disgusted expression. “It’s not pleasant.”
“Well… but I mean what about all the adventure?” She asked.
“It was dangerous! You know why I made sure to make the people love me? Why I spent so much time killing tax collectors and destroying debt holders? Because I needed to keep recruiting new desperate idiots! I had hundreds of crew die under my command. Boarding ships, raiding ports? Deadly deadly work. To say nothing of the pirate hunters.” He shook his head then at some old memories and ran a hand along his right knee as it twinged from an old wound.
“Well you didn’t have anyone telling you what to do.” She insisted and he laughed.
“I did before I was captain. I worked my way up you know. Scrubbing decks, painting the hull, cleaning the weapons. Then I was firing the weapons and terrified every second of every battle. I obeyed orders until one day our captain died and for some reason everyone looked at me. That was more terrifying than any battle. All these people who elected me as captain? Like I had all the answers? How did that happen? And that freedom you likely think about? It comes with having no family. No connections. I’m guessing you don’t like being told to wear stuffy dresses and come to boring parties?”
“I hate them.” She agreed with a nod.
“Well, it’s likely cause your parents love you and think it’s in your best interest. I have no idea what your parents are like but let me tell you this. Cherish their love. Hug them often. Spend time with them. Do what you have to for now, but turn your situation to your advantage. Don’t try to rebel and run off. That will make them try to cling tighter. Make deals. See if they can teach you how to sail, or take you to museums where you can learn. The age of piracy is dead.” He sighed and shook his head. “As are most of my oldest dearest friends. Let an old pirate give you some advice. Try to make your excitement legally. You like adventure and exploration right? Well do you know how many old ruins dot these moons? How many wrecks need to be explored around this system?” He waved his hand at the sky.
“Lots?” She asked.
“Lots.” He agreed. “Get educated. Explore the old ruins in the name of preserving history. Start your own museum. Make your own path to adventure. Figure out your strength. Because you are strong. Strong in a way so few people are. You might not have the raw strength like Ironhide, or the speed of Captain Dreadbot, but I’m sure you’ve got something. But don’t hate the people around you who trade safety and comfort for excitement and adventure. Some people aren’t as brave as you or I.” He winked and ruffled up her hair.
“I just don’t like being told what to do all the time. And they never let me just… go run around and have fun.” She insisted.
“Guess what? You’re a child. It’s going to happen. Learn to live with it for now. Bide your time. Like I said make deals with them. Be smart about it. Use the opportunity given to you by being born into a nice family that can attend boring yet fancy parties like this. Because let me tell you, being born a bastard is not nearly as fun as the stories and legends make it sound. You still have your flower?” He asked and she nodded, pulling the small silver and white gold flower from a pocket. Isaac had no idea if it was supposed to symbolize one of the old baron’s victims or lovers but really it didn’t matter.
“Should I put it back?” She asked and he shook his head.
“Keep it. Proof that if only for a night you were a part of Captain Nowhere’s crew.” He stood up then and set the bottle of rum back down on the bench. “Now come on. Let’s see if they’ve started sending out search parties for you.”
She sighed and set down her carton of ice cream as she got up to follow him back to the veranda of the estate. As they got close they could see a crowd assembled at the center of the veranda and he called out as he approached. “Looking for this one?”
“There you are! We were worried sick! You ruined your dress! And what’s all this!” A concerned Cauchon woman dashed forward and had already pulled a cloth from… well he wasn’t sure where she’d kept it in her dress but she was using it to clean the ice cream smudges from the girl’s mouth. “You’re in big trouble young lady!”
“I know…” Rocehlle accepted with a sigh.
“Now now, it wasn’t her idea. It was all mine. I take the blame. I accidentally spilled drink on her dress and thought it would be fun to show her the old garden. Don’t be too hard on her.” Isaac insisted. But he watched a man in a particularly fancy set of clothes push his way out through the crowd.
“Captain De Nullepart this behavior is unacceptable! I kept you on the guest list all these years out of respect for your position in this society’s history but this is just too much!” Isaac rolled his eyes as he looked at the clean shaven lord before him. His hair perfectly manicured, his hands soft and untested, his clothes not even ruffled.
“Now now, I am here to apologize. We had a bit of fun is all. No one got hurt.” He insisted.
“That changes nothing! I’m not sure I’ll ever let you onto my estate again!” When the lord said that Isaac just smirked and in a flash the crowd backed up with a gasp, his electroblade extended out, the point pressed against the lord’s throat. His eyes wide with fear as he could hear the soft hum of the blade as Isaac rubbed his thumb over the button to charge it.
“Kid. You don’t let me do anything. I do what I feel like. I’ve likely killed more men than you’ve ever met in your life. Are you strong?” He asked then and the lord frowned, looking confused.
“Am I…”
“Strong.” Isaac repeated. “Do you have any idea if you’re strong?”
“I… I don’t know how much I can lift…” The lord stammered out.
“Not physically! With those little twigs you call arms I can see you’re not some muscular giant. But it doesn’t matter because if someone asks you if you’re strong and you don’t immediately reply yes then the answer is no. You’re not. Because you’ve never had any reason to find out. You’ve never tested yourself. Well I have. And this little one here is a fraction of your age and she already knows she’s strong.” He waved at Rochelle. “Civilization is a gilded cage. A gilded cage where most of us agree to live. But you forget the door to the cage isn’t locked. It’s just difficult to open and close. But some of us are strong enough to open it and close it. To come and go as we please. Because it’s nice in this gilded cage isn’t it? It’s safe, and comfortable, and luxurious. But do you know what?” His question hung in the air for a few seconds before the crowd of worried aristocracy.
“What?” The lord finally asked.
“The cage will only be shaped by the people with the strength to bend the bars. And most of the time the people who want to leave that cage? They don’t hate the bars. They don’t hate the safety. They hate the people they share it with.” He pulled his blade away then and the lord gasped, rubbing his throat as Isaac sheathed his sword. But he pulled his trusty electrodagger from his boot and handed it to the Cauchon he figured was Rochelle’s mother. “Her strength isn’t in being a prim and proper wife to some lord. Help her find her strength and you’ll help her find her happiness.”
With that he rubbed the tip of his white beard and then removed his hat with a flourish, bowing before them all. “Now if you’ll all excuse me I’m going to go get drunk… and find out if Madame Lerau is still alive. I’d almost forgotten that being a true pirate is only partly about looting. It’s also about doing what I damn well please. So to hell with these boring parties anyway.” As he walked away from the stunned crowd he grabbed a waiter by the arm. “Tell all the servants, maids, waiters, cooks, chalets, valets, butlers, and people like that. I’m having a party at my estate. My treat. And we’re going to drink until none of us can walk. Is that busty wench really Miss Scarlet! I haven’t seen you since that night in Baron Ventenia’s bath house!”
He let go of the waiter before grabbing a nearby white haired housekeeper close as he tilted her back and kissed her before spinning her around as if dancing with her. He kissed her hand once she was back on her feet and winked. “Never looked better my dear.” He left her to blush and straighten out her uniform as he headed to the door, no one daring stop him. “Damn it’s good to be a pirate.”

WAX, The sleeping giant about to wake up?

This text is long, I know but that's life. Some people find opportunities reading what other don't... Impossible to make it smaller. I've been following this coin since January and this is the whole story of what I learned.
This link (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n9PLvXSyWHc) is a video concerning the main problem WAX wants to resolve thanks to Blockchain and they're close to making it work. It's a matter of months. The adoption will be fast for many reasons, one of them being the fact that it is way easier for a gamer to understand how blockchain and wallets work than any other sector willing to adopt blockchain. My 68-year-old father will probably never use Bitcoin cause he doesn't understand it and frankly, he doesn't care that much at this point in his life so...
Now, let's talk about WAX a little.
Why would WAX explode? Why now ? Their main chain is already live in alpha testing and is currently used by a dapp called VGO. This is huge. The dapp wouldn't choose to run on the WAX chain if it wasn't already stable enough. WAX was forced to accelerate its evolution since the rupture between Steam and Opskins. Opskins is now focusing on WAX way more and this will start bringing the good news faster than expected. Anyway, that's just the beginning. Let's dig a little deeper because this is in my opinion, one of the best opportunities right now.
Why is WAX so cheap? There are many reasons for that.
1 - The Huobi disaster. Huobi didn't follow the instructions and information provided by WAX. Instead, they searched for the contract on Etherscan and listed a scam contract: https://etherscan.io/token/0x8e1701e9509250d808eeca648feb1b8d7eed0704 And based on this, Huobi gave the wrong supply information on the contract even though it was known for some days that the supply was increased by 10x. Before they realized and fixed their mistake, people had already deposited and sold scam token. Real coins were also sold. WAX set up a fund to reimburse or help reimburse the issue long before the deposits and withdrawals were unlocked too. Anyway, long story short, it was a mess. Some interesting stuff to read about it: https://medium.com/wax-io/wax-update-december-24-2017-8db1b1a9fee2 https://medium.com/wax-io/wax-huobi-pro-important-update-e3f7cb588be0 On top of that, some took advantage of the fact that the deposits were closed and the supply was getting smaller and smaller. It made the price pump quite high (around 2,75$) before falling in a free dive to around 0.25$. Of course, that didn't help much either.
2 - Their marketing approach for the cryptoworld hasn't been the best. By observing news and interviews, one could think that there won't be much happening till January 2019 and there was no reason for anyone to buy WAX so the price dropped but that is incorrect. It's just that WAX didn't want to be one of those projects announcing announcements of announcements that announce other announcements... Anyway, this was more a misunderstanding because they've been sticking to their roadmap since the beginning and they even have some advance now.
3 - The second reason provoked a poor marketing strategy for crypto traders. The result of that is the fact that most people have no idea of what WAX is. I hear a lot that there are other gaming coins that have been doing better. I hear people saying Enjin is better, or Funfair is better... Let's clear up the mess a little. Enjin and WAX are not competing against each other. I wouldn't be surprised to see them working together in the future as Gifto and Decentraland already do. WAX stands for Worldwide Asset eXchange. The word gaming is not in there. WAX will actually help those project grow by facilitating their access to the gaming industry. Let's not forget that Opskins is already a major player in gaming. Let's imagine WAX was never created by Opskins. Wouldn't it be great for Enjin to sign a partnership with Opskins? Well, a partnership with WAX would have the same effect for Enjin. That's why I said I wouldn't be surprised if they worked together.
4 - Add on all this the fact that WAX went live a month before the bear market starts so it basically didn't even have time to grow before dropping lower and lower but let's not forget that all coins dropped hard since the second half of January. WAX had the first three reasons on top of the bear market so it basically returned to ICO presale territory where it still is today (09/07/2018). WAX is seriously undervalued!
So basically, I just bought some extremely cheap WAX because of those factors. Compared to other projects, WAX is waaaaay undervalued. I mean come on guys, a $hitcoin like IOTA is almost at 3 billion CMC, in the top 10 coins with a massive network failure going on right now and WAX, with a real product and backed by a big company is at the bottom of top 100? How long do you think it will stay like that? Especially now that WAX is showing signs of waking up at last with the launch of their alpha version that seems to work perfectly well. So what is WAX and why it might be the one that might bring faster adoption? This is a good way to understand what WAX is all about.
Remember Crypto Kitties? They were (and still are) on the Ethereum blockchain. Crypto Kitties are a perfect example of what an NFT is (Non-Fungible Token, if you don't know what that is, you should). Did you see Crypto Kitties being traded on Binance or Coinbase? No. This is the first part where WAX kicks in. You CAN trade Crypto Kitties on Opskins and soon, you'll be able to trade them (and all other NFTs) on the WAX chain. WAX will be the Binance of NFTs and the WAX coin could be the equivalent of BNB.
Now imagine a scenario where you'd like to trade a Crypto Kittie that is on the Ethereum chain with a "Crypto Turtle" that is using NFTs from the EOS chain. How would you do that? This is the second part where WAX kicks in again with its Cross-Blockchain system. That will allow you to trade any NFT from any blockchain to any other. (Read more here: https://medium.com/wax-io/wax-platform-cross-blockchain-integration-airdrops-and-more-a909bfea240a)
Remember the video at the beginning? Imagine those Fortnite skins going on NFTs on the blockchain and being traded on the WAX platform... This is what WAX is trying to do. Create infrastructure for that new type of market that is exploding all around the world. Online gaming has no borders.
Ow, and guess what... That Cross-Blockchain part means many airdrops in the next 12 months but this is a small detail ;)
WAX will also have its own NFTs but that is just one of their aspects. Their main goal, as their name indicates, is to be a decentralized exchange platform for digital assets so it is not possible to compare it with other gaming coins.
So why now? Why is the sleeping giant waking up?
Because of what happened with Steam and Opskins and the fact that we're getting close to the beta testing and main launch. As said earlier, the whole Steam/Opskins situation forced Opskins to put more energy into WAX and June has been a festival of great news going unnoticed because of the price drop and the fact that the entire market is focusing on the global trend. Actually, Opskins were expecting something like that from Valve/Steam as they mention in this statement: https://blog.opskins.com/official-statement-regarding-valve-opskins-steam-accounts/
But here are some other things that make me believe that WAX is a screaming buy right now.
1 - The WAX chain is working and already being used by a dapp while not even officially live yet, few know about it and even fewer understand what that means. 2 - They seem to be ahead of their roadmap, meaning that the main chain airdrop should be announced earlier than expected and generally, delivering ahead of the roadmap is a good sign. 3 - The Robotcache airdrop is approaching. I expect it around the end of August. Airdrops always create predictable waves. 4 - WAX is currently waaaay undervalued and we're quite close to the bottom. Just take a look at the chart. Doesn't that look sexy? A change in behavior can be observed since the 29th of June. 5 - Basically, there's a lot of ignorance concerning WAX so if news start to come out and attract the attention, people will fomo in when they start realizing the potential. 6 - Adoption is imminent and that brings in retail money that makes the price explode. That is expected around January 2019 but speculators will get in before that, pushing the price up soon.
Anyway, I could write a book about why WAX is such a screaming buy right now but you don't read long articles ând this one is already too long soo... let's cut it short.
Everything will depend on BTC but I'm starting to wear my contrarian hat. The bigger picture indicates a change of BTC trend and I believe that at the beginning of this new rally, altcoins will shoot up with better ROI than BTC and since WAX is one of the most undervalued, it might 10x in the next 2 months to find a more realistic valuation, before falling again to prepare the big explosion of the end of the year. Adoption should push the price in the sky and put it in orbit around earth ;) The price is currently around 0.13$. In a realistic scenario based on the market, the fact that WAX has huge incentives to stake the mainchain coin and all the airdrops that will come in the next 12 months, I wouldn't be surprised to see the total value of a long hold (airdrops included) approaching 20$ to 50$ in a year from now. Of course, it won't go straight up and the waves I expect, have tops around 2$, 10$, 20$, 50$...
PS: I have a bet with a friend of mine. I have some good reasons to believe that Binance should list WAX soon. The recent volume rise, the upcoming updates and the fact that WAX is the only coin from the communities votes that haven't been added yet, make me believe that Binance will want a part of the WAX growth so, why not listing it... A nice bottle of wine in play here with my bet. I might be wrong but after all, this is a speculative market for now, right?
PS 2: As usual, DYOR and this is not a financial advice. I just shared my observation on WAX and I've been watching it since that Novogratz video saying that he is betting on WAX but also his last tweets about the next 6 bullish months.

You don't want a mooncoin.

Nearly every thread on this sub, every comment on every thread I want to reply to:

If you're looking for the next sub $1 rocketcoin, DBC may or may not be it, it's really hard to tell right now.
To Day Traders: DBC has a lot of growth to come. But so does a lot of coins, and so does the whole crypto market. All alt coins are going to 'moon' throughout 2018. But recent days there has been soo much (too much) growth that there will be correction/down trend (in the market leader; bitcoin).
The DBC launch time is unfortunate in such a volatile period, but it's resistance to all other market trends will prove it's value.
Don't Day Trade DBC
To Long Term Traders: All alt coins, especially 'old' (established) and cheap coins, and all 'functional coins' are seeing tremendous growth. Everyone looking for a 'store of value' already have a chunk of bitcoin, litecoin and etherium. But, coins that serve a purpose, ie, litecoin (tied to bitcoin but far less transfer fee), Etherium (fuels so many apps and other systems), zcash (and all privacy coins), Ripple (and all Bank/centralized coins), are seeing growth and adoption rates counter to the market (the price of bitcoin)
So, coins that serve a function have independent growth to most other crypto coins. DBC will have counter value to the greater market because it's tied to a specific function. (but, that function needs to see value for the growth to see value)
Buy DBC for the long run
Where/when is the value: DBC right now is super crazy early, it's just another 'shitcoin' in the sea of wastecoins. The purpose of the coin is tied to the release of the bigger AI project that is far from complete, you cant write apps yet, you cant even mine yet, so in reality there's no purpose for the coins just yet. The biggest limitation to the price of the coin is the limited markets it's available to. Right now there are many traders/interested parties that want the currency but don't have access to it. Once DBC hits 'major' (western/EU markets), the real value will come through. Hopefully the entire DBC platform will be established beforehand.
To ANY traders: So the majority of posts in this sub is about the price of the coin, and the volatility, and fair enough, there isn't much else to DBC right now other than the coin and the price. The crux of my super long winded rant is basically to say that we are super early days of a new cryptocoin and platform; the price is almost irrelevant. I see too many posts about the price not mooning, or having dropped a huge percentage. It's actually a good thing that the price is remaining so stable and not rocketing to the moon. Not rocketing to the moon. Not rocketing past the moon, staying in our orbit.
.
Look at this chart, this is a super scary chart. Super scary for traders. Super scary for app developers. Super scary for currency developers.
It's maybe the pinnacle of a super hypecoin, super mediacoin, super functionalcoin, a podcastcoin. There are many just like it, it launches, rockets to thousands of dollars and then crashed to nothing. ZCash has a great story, but huge flaws. DBC has a great story, but, we still have to find the flaws.
Too Long Did Not Attempt to Read: I'm actually super drunk right now and hate posting to these subreddits. but i feel like there are too many new traders in here crazy focused on the very first dip in coin value.
>ignore my ramblings | dothis: if you believe in this coin and project you should be thinking about how to accrue more DBC and not cashing in USD. if the price drops don't think that you've lost money, think, that DBC is on sale, buy in. for each month, week, day that DBC is cheap, you should be buying in. if the price dips then it's the best time to get more.
Full Disclosure: I'm crazy drunk and have deleted many attempted replys to every one in this sub. I don't own any DBC, once it hits any of my exchanges I will add it to my portfolio.

Success to the Successful (or: why the moon is not far enough)

Someone today asked me to sum up the difference between Dash and Monero, since the price of both is rising rapidly right now. I found myself referring to a simple but useful model on growth and competition, which comes from outside the field of cryptocurrency. I will take this model, and try to explain a subtle but powerful feature of Dash that is often overlooked.
A defining feature of Dash is its treasury system. Each month, 10% of the block reward is set aside as a budget for development activities. This includes – among other things – software development, project management, the DASH: Detailed show, hardware integrations, and conference expenses.
There are two key properties of the treasury payments: first, they are voted on by masternode operators, large stakeholders with a financial incentive to allocate the budget wisely; and second, they are made in DASH, and so the more valuable DASH is, the more this stream of money can pay for. If masternode operators vote wisely, they increase the usefulness, demand for, and hence price of DASH. They will then find in future that they have an even more valuable budget stream to allocate. This in turn pays for Dash to improve further, and so a loop is formed, where the more successful Dash becomes today, the more potential it has to be successful in future.
This structure is not new. In fact, it is so widely recurring it has a name: Success to the Successful. Some other examples from this linked page are:
When a research team wins a grant, that team is more likely to succeed, and be able to obtain future grants.
When a sports team wins the championship, the inflow of media attention, revenues, and respect enables this team to continue investing in great players.
When a person begins prioritizing work over home life, it can become easier to get sucked into work as new opportunities open up and bosses recognize the hard work.
(Success to the Successful can have both positive and negative consequences, depending on how much of and what part of the system you want to consider.)
You can see how it works dynamically between two competing systems in this interactive model by Gene Bellinger on the Insight Maker website. Note that the structure of this is different from Dash vs Monero (or Bitcoin), because the two loops are not equal. The DASH price rising doesn't just make existing holders wealthier and attract new people to the gold rush, it necessarily and directly pays for future development of core features – under the assumptions that the masternode operators vote wisely and that the funded activities proceed as planned. (Note that while wise masternode voting helps increase the development budget, anything that causes the DASH price to rise also increases the development budget. Even people hedging out of BTC by buying DASH purely at random will also grow the Dash treasury.)
There is an important proviso to all this. In a finite world, every form of exponential growth will meet a limiting factor. Animals that breed too successfully exhaust the food in their environment. Extracting oil helps build machines to extract more oil, but this just makes the oil run out faster. A new fashion will attract more followers who attract yet more followers, until it becomes mainstream and is no longer new and cool – and either goes the way of jeans, or the way of bell bottoms.
Running an organisation is a complex problem in itself, and one that is not solved simply by throwing more money at it. Microsoft failed utterly to take a share of the music player market from Apple, but it was in no way due to lack of money. I've seen myself in some detail the results of a startup that was initially wildly successful and profitable, but made a bad decision on how to structure itself, and then tried to solve every subsequent problem by hiring more managers. (If this had a name, it would be Failure to the Failing.) Whether by accident or by infiltration, Dash may find itself making mistakes that mean success does not come as smoothly as the SttS model predicts. Like every model, it is simple, elegant, and wrong – but hopefully it is still useful in some way. In fact, Dash will makes mistakes: nobody has ever created a global, decentralised, self-funding DAO before, and it is simply impossibly to build something so complex for the first time without making mistakes (the mistakes are what teach you what not to do). The test of the treasury is whether it will spot and correct these mistakes faster than the competitors.
People who only do technical trading, people who trade based only on the charts from (for example) CoinMarketCap, might currently be looking at the price movements and thinking that Bitcoin, Dash, Ethereum and Monero and so on are doing similarly well. But these charts hide a key structural difference, that the price rise of DASH has relatively increased its ability to develop its network much more than the others. What would it look like, if instead of a table of price charts, we had a table of treasury fund charts? One of them would look very different from the others.
It's become a catchphrase that Bitcoin is going "to the moon". Well, right now Bitcoin development has all but stopped while people argue over whether to build a tiny, high speed, two-seater shuttle, or a huge slow carrier cable of transporting millions. Large BTC holders are having to reach into their own pockets to fund and develop something that will be usable as digital cash, a situation that is sustainable only if it can launch before they run out of money. Dash, meanwhile, took Bitcoin's shuttle prototype, collected money from investors to build a satellite navigation network (masternodes), added boosters (instant transactions), and a cloaking device (decentralised mixing) – and is now building a network of accessible spaceports so that people without an engineering degree can get on and off (Evolution). Thanks to its treasury system, Dash is transitioning from its bootstrapping phase and becoming a viable organisation, and it is doing so much more economically than many Silicon Valley startups.
I think the space race metaphor for cryptocurrencies still works, but maybe it would benefit from a little revision. Bitcoin is somewhat like NASA, with a big head start but a relatively fixed budget; Dash is more like Virgin Galactic, a younger and smaller but ultimately self-funding private venture. I like what Sid Meier did with the Civilization games: the goal he set was not to get to the moon, it was to get to Alpha Centauri. If we are speaking metaphorically, I don't think that would be a bad target for Dash either. It needs to set itself apart.
Success to the Successful works exponentially, but is subject to random events early on, and exponential growth starts slowly – so it's impossible to say if Dash will even get into low Earth orbit. However, when exponential growth kicks in, it kicks in fast – witness the growth of the web. Dash is unique among the top cryptos to have this reinforcing loop designed in. 2016 saw the price of DASH, and hence the development budget, triple. What will it mean if that happens again, in 2017?
EDIT: I've just spotted that itscrazybro beat me by 10 hours or so by pointing out the reinforcing effect of the recent price rise in this post:
It's an amazing positive feedback loop, thanks Evan for the brilliant concept!
I've only had one eye on Reddit over the holidays, and I wrote this first thing after a coffee this morning without catching up on the news. So props to itscrazybro for highlighting this important change first, and also for calculating that the treasury budget is currently 1.45M USD/year. That is a lot of money!

If you've come here to post that you're worried about the price being down, please read this.

I'm seeing a lot of "Guys, the price is down, what are we going to do" posts.
Item #1: Look at Bitcoin's history. http://blockchain.info/charts/market-price?timespan=1year - Notice in April 2013, there was a spike, and then a drop. Notice all of the peaks and valleys. The trend has been undeniably upward, but everyone needs to understand that peaks and dips are absolutely the normal function of a trading market where some people are trying to sell high and some people are trying to buy low. To see a real trend, we need to look at averages. This is why "real" stock market graphs show 24hr, 7 day and 30 day trend lines. Because the averaged trends (signal) are more important than the day to day jitter.
Item #2: The Allegory of the Bank Run. It goes a bit like this. Someone about town, with 5 small banks, one bank closes for a day because they have trouble paying out funds. A customer of that bank spreads the rumor that there is going to be a bank run, meaning that everyone is going to withdraw their funds and the banks will become insolvent. In reaction to this rumor, the entire town withdraws all of their money from the other 4 banks, thereby causing a bank run - in reaction to an imagined impending bank run.
Right now the BIGGEST danger to Dogecoin is not day traders, trollbox preachers, or price manipulators. It's morale here, and this absolutely unfounded worry that a moderate dip in price which has been calculated in days.
Has anyone noticed that while Dogecoin has taken an underwhelming slight fall, Bitcoin has basically fallen from orbit? Bitcoin has crashed, Litecoin has crashed, and Dogecoin has "meh'd". We really need to see the silver lining here. ALL cryptos are down right now. Dogecoin isn't down that much by comparison. And people are getting nervous because we're not at 300 satoshis yet?
Come on folks. We were at 75 satoshis a few weeks ago. Let's temper our expectations and can the negativity because it can and WILL cause a feedback loop that will cause the market (which is inherently emotional) to react to the community's morale. It makes me worry about how shibes will react to the inevitable first REAL dogecoin crash. (It'll happen, and 'that too, shall pass'.)
There is no need to abort this mission AT ALL. Keep evangelizing Doge and the community. Keep using Doge, keep exchanging Doge, keep mining Doge and keep telling everyone you can about Doge.
When you worry about the price, channel that upset into doing something with Doge. Make a site. Talk to a business about accepting doge. Get a friend mining. Show a friend faucets.
Anything but rumination about insignificant jitter in the trend line. Because we are absolutely and undoubtedly still flying.

Bitcoin Looks a Lot Like an Early Amazon

Posting this in Ripples Reddit so that people might understand that today's total marketcap of $111 billion (digital currency as a whole) is a drop in the bucket of what it should be 5+ years from now. All of these media outlets that report on the currencies being in a 'bubble' have no idea what the outcome will actually be (this is history in the making). If blockchain technology holds up to expectations, the marketcap of digital currencies could exceed one trillion dollars within 5 to 10 years, easy!
Note: The article includes a few charts that are not reflected in the copied version below. Use the link to see the charts.

Bitcoin Looks a Lot Like an Early Amazon Gordon Scott Gordon Scott, CMT June 21, 2017 SHARE
You might as well get used to the Bitcoin headlines. They aren’t going away. And that’s because cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin aren’t going away. If history is any guide, this may only be the beginning. Bitcoin may be the most lucrative trading opportunity since internet stocks such as Amazon.com Inc. in the dot-com era. If that notion sounds as scary as it does exciting, it should. While it is true that trading digital currencies holds real risk, there is also a real opportunity for traders right now. Please note that I said traders here, not investors. Even if it were true that investors could multiply their money, they would take that trade at the risk of great volatility. Since inception, Bitcoin owners have endured price drops greater than 75 percent of previous peak values. Most recently, during Bitcoin's 2017 June swoon for Bitcoin saw prices fall nearly 40 percent before bottoming out. Amid the roiling price churn and innovation headlines, it is important to see the bigger picture. Bitcoin and all the other cryptocurrencies (yes there are others — over 800 and counting) are the start of something big. That’s because the blockchain, a technological accounting protocol, is an idea whose time has come. In very simplistic terms, the blockchain is a set of thousands of interconnected ledger books where anything that gets updated on one copy of the ledger is copied on all of them. While that might sound like something you’d expect from the world of Harry Potter, it is a growing reality in the world of electronic payments right now. The implications for efficiency within and across any given political borders are quite staggering. Whether it be land rights in developing economies or lower fees on e-commerce transactions, blockchain technology enables value transfer without a middleman and promises many more possibilities. The latest run-up in the price of Bitcoin is an indication that many more people are starting to believe these promises could actually be fulfilled. But if the speed of these rising prices seems a bit too fast for your taste, consider that this has happened before — most recently with internet stocks and their rise leading up to the dot-com crash of 2000. In those days some stocks clearly got caught up in the media, and some ventures never left the ground, but the stocks that rocketed to orbit, and stayed there, are the companies we rely on today. In fact, there is a worthwhile comparison between one dot-com of that time and Bitcoin prices today. Consider the following charts comparing Amazon (AMZN) shares from 1997 to 1999 (blue chart) with Bitcoin from 2016 to 2017 (tan chart); Ethereum, Bitcoin’s biggest rival, from 2016 to 2017 (red chart); and Bitcoin from 2009 to 2010 (green chart). Charts comparing early Amazon Stock to Bitcoin and Ethereum's rise. Investors were not able to fully and accurately quantify Amazon share value at first. Can you blame them if it was hard to analyze the idea of using supply-chain management software to create a virtual book warehouse and factory outlet mall synthesized into a single website? Even by the start of 1997, everyone knew Amazon had a great idea, but no one could fully explain how much its shares should be worth. Consequently, investors had to guess at the company’s value, notoriously overestimating the possibilities for a time. Amazon rose more than 6,000% in its first two years after its public offering. 18 years later the peak price from back then looks cheap by comparison today. Surprisingly, Bitcoin’s performance in its first two years only achieved two-thirds of Amazon’s original run-up. The recent price appreciation of Bitcoin over the last two years and the price of Etherium since its initial coin offering have both made dramatic gains, but have yet to match Amazon’s meteoric rise. It’s possible that cryptocurrencies are not only here to stay, but potentially a life changing mechanism for all of us. If that’s the case, then Bitcoin offers investors a multi-decade investment opportunity, rising like Amazon's market cap — and a price — that defies logic.

Give me 5 minutes of your time! Let's talk about the Moonpledge ...

... and do it all together ;-)

Yes, but there's more to it!

Greetings my fellow shibes from all over the world!

I must tell you honestly, that I have a lot of fun doing this no matter what! And I love you all in some magic way for being shibes and being around Dogecoin all over the world!
The idea to moonpledge Dogecoin was introduced almost a year ago on 3/24/2015 and I am doing it since 5/18/2015. It turns out that the Moonpledge is not only a nice tool for fighting the expansion but it's also much good for saving crypto.
You will find all charts, sources and links at the end of the post.
Check this out:
But that's not what I wanted to talk to you about:

The important thing I wanted to talk about is: the 12 moons price frontier!

We Moonpledgers came up with the idea to protect the Moonpledge Shibes from pumps and dumps. So we started to calculate an average price to have an indicator when the price is pumped higher "normal". 12 moons was choosen as a time frame for the average price because that's the minimum time we Moonpledgers hold on to DOGE before we spent and donate 5%. Hence 12 moons price frontier, or just 12 moons price ;-)
ok
When the daily price shoots over the 12 moons price it's OK to pause your moonpledge. When it comes down again you continue your moonpledge and can moonpledge the additional FIAT you hae saved up during the pause.
This 12 moons price orientation served us well until now!
It seems that Dogecoin was beamed to a new price orbit and it looks like it will stay in theses speres. I paused my moonpledge about a moon now, and if the price stays there it could take a lot time until the 12 moons frontier and the daily price play in the same region again. Today the daily price is about 170% of the 12 moons price!

To be honest, I don't want to pause so loooooooooooooooong! I want to monpledge DOGE!

That's why I would like to discuss an additional alternative regarding the 12 moons price with you! Maybe we will come up with something that great!
My proposal:

The much optimized Moonpledge!

It's quite simple once you do the moonpledge and think long term!
  • We don't want to be pumped and dumped!
  • We want to moonpledge dogecoin for minimum 12 mooons!
  • We take the 12 moons price as a orientation!
All right!
Why don't we do this?
Today the average DOGE price for 10k DOGE is something like $2.62
The 12 moons price for 10k DOGE is about $1.48
That means the 12 moon price is about 56,5% of the actual price, right!
If you moonpledge daily $1 why don't you moonpledge today only 56,5% of that, meaning 56cents? The 34cent you can save for bad times and moonpledge them when the daily price is lower than the 12 moons price ;-)
Lets rewind a few moons back: On 10/3/2015 the daily price was about $1.23 for 10k DOGE and the 12 moons price was about $1.68 for 10k DOGE. That means the 12 moons price was about 136,5% of the daily price.
The optimized Moonpledger would moonpledge Doge for $1.36 that day!
Got it?
This means you would moonpledge less Doge when the price is above the 12 moons frontier and more Doge when the price is under the 12 moons price and this optimization results in a 5% better status! WOW!
The downside is you would not have a daily fixed FIAT amount you put in every day, you would need to calculate it for every time you moonpledge.
Who wants to build an moonpledge web app with me that does excatly that?
All the math is in the spreadsheets below?

New to cryptocurrencies - Can someone shed light on the markets today?

Ok, so back in January I finally decided to give cryptocurrencies a try after watching the Bitcoin value sky rocket over the years and wanting to kick myself in the dick for not CPU mining when I first heard of it. Obviously the second best time to invest is today.
I put about $80 AUD into BTC and $15 into ETH since Coinbase was offering it at the time just to give the whole cryptocurrency thing a try.
I completely forgot about it until 2 weeks ago when someone on Facebook mentioned BTC had doubled. I logged in to find my BTC investment at about $250 AUD and my ETH around the same - FROM ONLY $15!!! In a mere 4 months my investment had gone up like 15X's.
Of course, now I'm kicking myself wondering why the hell I didn't invest more. If I had seen the trend in prices I would have thrown more money at it when it was still in the double digits!
So I tell my wife and suggest we have a bit of a gamble and invest $1000 AUD into crypto's and see how we go. I figure if we lose $1000 that really sucks but won't destroy us financially and based on my profits from just $15 from only a few months ago it's worth the risks because it could seriously change our lives.
So now I've been obsessively watching the charts (maybe a little too much) trying to learn the ins and outs of trading, etc. I noticed today that Eth pretty much stayed the same while every other crypto pretty much left orbit.
If I had transferred some of that into like 80 of the top 100 cryptos on Coin Market Cap I could have made a few hundred dollars in just a single day since nearly every single crypto was up by at least 10%.
But what I don't understand is why nearly every single crypto left the stratosphere while ETH stayed still. What will happen to all those alt coins? Will people start dumping them back for ETH/BTC/insert other after taking their gains to build their ETH stockpiles? Can I not just simply jump on for the ride, take a bit of gains and then jump off and convert back to ETH?
And more importantly, how the hell do people know which alts to jump in on early? Ripple, Stellar, Ubiq, Waves and more went up by insane amounts in just 24 hours, some of them more than 40% - Yet scouring Reddit, /biz/ and other sources I didn't see any news or anything that would cause people to just randomly jump on those alt coins and pump them to the moon. That's a crazy amount of profit to make simply by trading cryptos and then waiting less than 24 hours. Will all those come crashing down and back into Ethereum?
I'm sure many of you will just tell me to hold, and certainly I will be holding some of my investment in BTC and ETH, but like many of you I'm also looking for that "next big coin" and would like to diversify my portfolio a bit to cover my bases. I put a bit of my BTC into Stratis since that sounds promising and the idea of 10X's returns within a year sounds a lot better than maybe 2X's if I'm lucky.

SPECTACULAR NUMBERS

Watching Wall Street boast its best start to a year in over a decade, investors are turning their focus to the fourth quarter earnings season, with results beginning to trickle in this week. Traders are focusing on the recent U.S. tax overhaul, which could provide breathtaking numbers, but it will not affect stock prices much.
ECONOMIES
German factory orders in Europe's biggest economy slipped by 0.4% in November after three months of gains. The dip was largely due to fluctuations in bulk orders but the overall trend remains positive. China's forex reserves posted an eleventh straight monthly increase in December, $20.7B, taking the full-year increase of the world's largest foreign-currency stockpile to $129B.
The FED should raise interest rates three times this year, given the already strong economy will get a boost from tax cuts.
ARAMCO’s 5% IS FOR SALE
Aligning its strategy with peers, Exxon Mobil (XOM) and Chevron (CVX), CEO Ben van Beurden said that growth of competitor Shell's (RDS.A) oil and gas operations in the next decade will depend on shale production. On what else?! Candies? What a discovery! Saudi Aramco and some of the kingdom's biggest companies said they'll pay Saudi staff more money, matching a royal order amid rising prices. Saudi Arabia seeks to sell as much as 5% of Aramco.
CRYPTO
The SEC has received a request to allow five bitcoin-related ETFs to be listed on Arca, a secondary marketplace on the NYSE. The instruments, are not tied to the price of the cryptocurrency itself, but would track bitcoin futures.
AT&T BACKS DOWN
AT&T (T) is backing away from a plan to sell phones made by Chinese handset giant Huawei, on the eve of a big announcement of the deal. The deal that Huawei was set to announce tomorrow would have been its first partnership with a major U.S. carrier, but AT&T has changed its mind. So far it is not clear why AT&T backed down, but there are two issues occur. Are Huawei's phones carry spyware? Is it because the US wants to have domestic competition? At one point we’ll have the answer.
THERE ARE NO JEDIS IN CHINA
$36 million in third-week grosses, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (Sony) finally toppled Star Wars: The Last Jedi (Disney) from the top of the box-office charts. Disney made an impressive $1.2 billion, but it is far from the estimated $2 billion. It seems that China has no Jedis, the movie made only 26% of expectations in the country. The Force is weak in China.
NVIDIA, VOLKSWAGEN, UBER, AI
Making further gains in the autonomous vehicle industry, Nvidia (NVDA) is partnering with Uber and Volkswagen on AI platforms. So far, 320 companies involved in self-driving cars - whether software developers, automakers, or sensor and mapping companies - are using Nvidia Drive, formerly branded as the Drive PX2, proven that there is more than cryptomining to the company!
WHIRLPOOL KICKS OFF CES2018
Apple (AAPL) Watch users will soon have the ability to control Whirlpool (WHR) appliances through the wearable. Whirlpool announced the development at CES and said the compatibility would come later this year to 20 connected appliances. Whirlpool says Amazon (AMZN) Alexa and Google (GOOGC) Assistant voice controls will also arrive in 2018.
SPACEX - THE FIRST LAUNCH OF 2018
SpaceX successfully launched a secret U.S. government payload called Zuma on Sunday and landed its rocket back on Earth. The Falcon 9 powered a spacecraft made by Northrop Grumman, which was sent into low-Earth orbit. SpaceX is now looking towards its next challenge, launching the Falcon Heavy - its largest rocket to date - at the end of January, meanwhile Tesla’s stock price soared higher.

FX WORLD
Not a lot happened on Monday, mostly momentum trading was possible. It doesn’t seem to be busy today either, still look for the correct entry points! The EURUSD initially took off to the upside, then broke down to the 1.20 area. 1.19 offers support, where the pair can find buyers and clear the 1.21 level. The GBPUSD didn’t do a lot, which is a sign that it is trying to break out. 1.365 offers resistance, if we break above, the pair will aim higher. 1.3333 is supportive underneath. The USDJPY did a lot of back and forth move during Monday, but couldn’t clear 113.5. Expect pull backs, which will offer good entry points, the pair eventually will break out on top! 112 is kind of an absolut floor.

Expect pull backs, which will offer good entry points, the pair eventually will break out on top! 112 is kind of an absolut floor.
